Trek O King: Dukes Nose Rappelling (300 ft) & Flying Fox (825 ft) on 6th Apr 2013

Dukes nose is a huge pinnacle which can be seen while travelling between Mumbai and Pune. Its shape is like a nose or a thumb. The sights from the top are unique and magnificent as one sees a vast landscape and the winding Mumbai Pune Express Highway cutting through the ghats and trains chugging along the tracks. It is famous for rock climbing, valley crossing and rappelling adventure activities.

Imagine going down on a rope which is set at 45 degree angle, downwards, with 800 Ft valley below you. You can feel the cool wind in ur hair and butterfly in your tummy !!!

Catch Indrayani Express and get down at Lonavala station

Mumbai CST: 5.37am

Dadar: 5.46am

Thane: 6.05am

Kalyan: 6.30am

Lonavala: 8.00am

Pune Participants:

Catch Pune-Lonavala local and get down at Lonavala station

Pune: 6.27am

Shivaji Nagar: 6.33am

Pimpari: 6.55am

Dehu Road: 7.04

Talegoan: 7.16 am

Kamshet: 7.30

Lonavala: 7.55

08.05 hrs: Near ticket counter

08.15 hrs: Move towards Dukes nose

09.30 hrs: Introduction

10.00 – 16.00 hrs: Rappelling and flying fox

16.00 hrs: Start Descending

17.00 hrs: Move to Lonavala by auto

17.30 hrs: Catch the train for Mumbai

Here is a list of all the things that we need to carry:

1. A haversack to put in all the things to be carried.

2. A bottle of water (1.5 liter)

3. Lunch for a day.

4. Electoral / Energy powder, 2 lemons, some snacks & biscuits

5. Torch with extra batteries, Camera (Optional).

6. Personal medicines & 2 plastic bags for weight distribution

7. A good trekking shoes

8. Extra pair of cloths

9. And most important: A sense of adventure

The charges for the event are

Flying Fox: Rs. 1000 (Single attempt)

Rappelling: Rs. 1300 (Single attempt)

Flying Fox & Rappelling: Rs. 2000

which includes travelling from Lonavala to Lonavala, breakfast, Lunch, Evening snacks and Equipment and expertise charges.
