Once again Waterfall Rappelling at Malshej Ghat

# Event: Waterfall Rappelling at Malshej Ghat region, Waterfall on Kalu River Height: 1150ft
# Date: 14-15 December 2013 Duration: 2 Days
# Departure: 13th Dec, late evening Arrival: 15th Dec, late evening
# Difficulty Level: 3 out of 5 (No prioexperience required)
# Event Fees: Includes Rappelling equipment usage & training, Mulund-to-Mulund                        traveling by private bus, Saturday dinner, Sunday tea-breakfast-Lunch

# What is Rappelling? Rappelling is nothing but climbing down a measurably high rock with the help of a rope, tied to you, with harness & descender. Sometimes you get to rest on the rock; sometimes you get an overhang where you’re in space with nothing around in 720 deg.
#  Event & site Summary: In the upcoming event, the 1150 ft rappelling will be divided into 5 patches. 2 will be rappelled on Saturday and remaining 3 on Sunday. Trekkers will need to start from Mumbai on Friday night and they will return back by Sunday late night. The night stay in the heart of Malshej valley and besides a waterfall is the bonus package of this event, so don’t miss it….
# Camp Schedule:-
Day 1: Friday 13th Dec
Day 2:  Saturday 14th Dec
Day 3:  Sunday 15th Dec 2013
·   Leave Mumbai at 10 pm
·   Reach Khubi village at around 4 am
·   Halt in school for fresh up
·   Rappelling Kits Distribution
·    Tea
·   Leave Khubi village 6:15 am
·   Reach camp site 7:15
·   Instructions/training
·   Rappelling start at 8:30
·   First patch - 350'
·   Pack Lunch
·   Second patch - 300'
·   Reach day 1 camp site
·   Dinner & Night halt
·   wake up at 5:00 am sharp
·   Breakfast 6:00 am
·   Rappelling start at 7:00
·   Third patch - 200'
·   Forth patch - 250'
·   Fifth patch - 50'
·   Reach the base of mountain
·   Trek for 1 hour to reach Thidabi village
·   Return of Rappelling Lunch at Thidabi Village .
·   Return journey to Mumbai.

# Mandatory Things to carry:
• Dry Snacks & Pack lunch for Saturday • Sack/backpack •Torch with extra pair of cell •cap •scarf for ladies compulsory • Water bottle •glass •bowl •plate •spoon •trekking or sports shoes with good grip • extra pair of socks • extra pairs of clothing • sleeping bag or shawl • sleeping mat • napkins • and personal medical kit

Trek O King: Dukes Nose Rappelling (300 ft) on 14th Apr 2013


Dukes nose is a huge pinnacle which can be seen while travelling between Mumbai and Pune. Its shape is like a nose or a thumb. The sights from the top are unique and magnificent as one sees a vast landscape and the winding Mumbai Pune Express Highway cutting through the ghats and trains chugging along the tracks. It is famous for rock climbing, valley crossing and rappelling adventure activities.

Imagine going down on a rope which is set at 45 degree angle, downwards, with 800 Ft valley below you. You can feel the cool wind in ur hair and butterfly in your tummy !!!

Mumbai Participants:
Catch Indrayani Express and get down at Lonavala station
Mumbai CST: 5.37am
Dadar: 5.46am
Thane: 6.05am
Kalyan: 6.30am
Lonavala: 8.00am

Pune Participants:
Catch Pune-Lonavala local and get down at Lonavala station
Pune: 6.27am
Shivaji Nagar: 6.33am
Pimpari: 6.55am
Dehu Road: 7.04
Talegoan: 7.16 am
Kamshet: 7.30
Lonavala: 7.55

08.05 hrs: Near ticket counter
08.15 hrs: Move towards Dukes nose
09.30 hrs: Introduction
10.00 – 16.00 hrs: Rappelling
16.00 hrs: Start Descending
17.00 hrs: Move to Lonavala by auto
17.30 hrs: Catch the train for Mumbai

Here is a list of all the things that we need to carry:

1. A haversack to put in all the things to be carried.
2. A bottle of water (1.5 liter)
3. Lunch for a day.
4. Electoral / Energy powder, 2 lemons, some snacks & biscuits
5. Torch with extra batteries, Camera (Optional).
6. Personal medicines & 2 plastic bags for weight distribution
7. A good trekking shoes
8. Extra pair of cloths
9. And most important: A sense of adventure

The charges for the event are:

Rappelling: Rs. 1200 (Single attempt)
which includes travelling from Lonavala to Lonavala, breakfast, Evening snacks and Equipment and expertise charges.

Trek O King Organizes 120 ft Rappelling at Sanjay Gandhi National Park on 26-27th Jan 2013


Rappelling Also technically known as Abseiling. Rappelling simply means A descent of a vertical surface, as a cliff or wall, by sliding down a belayed rope that is passed under one thigh and over the opposite shoulder or through a device that provides friction, typically while facing the surface and performing a series of short backward leaps to control the descent. It is a rapid & electrifying experience.

Location: SNGP, Borivali
Rappelling Height: 120 fts appx
Grade: Easy                                                                             
Maximum Participation: 40 Participants /day
Meeting Point: SNGP, Borivali Gate
Cost: Rs. 500/ head
Cost Includes: Entry Pass, Rappelling (Twice), Equipment & Expertise Charges, Traveling from SNGP borivali gate to Kanheri cave (Participants will need to manage return journey.)
(Note: Registrations are only through phone call. )

Itinerary:

07.30 hrs: Gather at SNGP, Borivali gate
07.50 hrs: Move towards Rappelling patch
08.30 hrs: Introduction
09.00 hrs: Rappelling starts
14.00 hrs: Rappelling ends

2. Good Shoes for Rappelling. (compulsory)
3. Wear comfortable full cotton casual top & full cotton trouser or track pant.
4. A bottle of water (1.5 ltr).

7. Cap/Hat, Goggle etc.
